Samuel Bester
Artiste franco-allemand né à Genève, Samuel Bester a suivi des études aux Arts Décoratifs de Strasbourg où il a pris conscience, avec la complicité de Jean-François Guiton, de l’importance que les arts médiatiques allaient prendre dans sa vie et dans sa recherche artistique.
Des rencontres avec Robert Cahen, Jochen Gerz, Harun Farocki ou Jean-Marc Montera nourrissent sa démarche et l’incitent à travailler l’image en mouvement et le son dans de multiples domaines : du film à l’installation en passant par le spectacle vivant.
Aux frontières des genres, ses oeuvres sont d’inspiration documentaires et poétiques.

French-German artist born in Genève, Samuel Bester studied in Arts Decoratif school of Strasbourg where he became aware – with the complicity of Jean-François Guiton – of the importance of media arts were going to take in his life and in its artistic search.
Meetings with Robert Cahen, Jochen Gerz, Harun Farocki or Jean-Marc Montera are nourishing his work and incite him to work the image in movement and the sound in multiple domains: of movie to installation via live performance.
On the borders of the kinds, his artworks are inspired by documentary and poetry.
