Ewen Chardronnet (Fr) est un artiste intermédia, auteur, journaliste et commissaire d’exposition.
Il a participé depuis le début des années 90 à de nombreuses initiatives artistiques (musique,
performances, films, fanzines, installations, résidences coopératives, productions intermédias,
expositions collectives) et a contribué en tant qu’essayiste à de nombreuses publications. Il a
été membre actif de diverses initiatives collectives, telles que l’Association des Astronautes
Autonomes, Makrolab, et est cofondateur avec Bureau d’Etudes (Léonore Bonaccini et Xavier
Fourt) de la revue & du collectif The Laboratory Planet et des projets associés Spectral
Investigations Collective et Aliens in Green. Se définissant comme un auteur collectif, il a
collaboré avec de nombreux artistes et est également curateur et producteur dans le
développement d’œuvres d’art intermédia, de performance et d’investigation. En 2015, il a été
lauréat des résidences américaines de l’Institut français, à la suite de laquelle il a publié Mojave
Epiphanie, une histoire secrète du programme spatial américain (Inculte, 2016) et exposé ses
recherches au Centre Pompidou lors du festival Hors Pistes 2019. En 2015, il a également initié
avec Tomas Saraceno la branche française de la Fondation Aerocene. Depuis 2016, Ewen
Chardronnet et Xavier Bailly (CNRS, Station marine de Roscoff) animent la collaboration
art/science Roscosmoe.org sur la symbiose animaux-algues et accompagnent le
développement de travaux artistiques liés à l’environnement marin et à la biologie évolutive. Il a
exposé ses œuvres dans de nombreuses institutions, dont : Pompidou, MEP, Jeu de Paume,
Belle de Mai, Fundação Serralves, PACT Zollverein, Transmediale, Berlinische Galerie, Casa
Encendida, RIXC, Science Gallery Dublin & London. Son projet Unborn0x9 avec l’artiste
américano-taiwanaise Shu Lea Cheang a reçu une mention honorifique au Prix Ars Electronica
en 2021. Il est actuellement rédacteur en chef du médialab et magazine en ligne français
Makery.info et commissaire du festival Open Source Body qui se tient tous les deux ans à la
Cité Internationale des Arts, à Paris.

Ewen Chardronnet (Fr) is an intermedia artist, author, journalist and curator. He has participated
since the early 90s in numerous artistic initiatives (music, performances, films, fanzines,
installations, cooperative residencies, intermedia productions, group exhibitions) and has
contributed as an essayist to numerous publications. He has been active member in various
collective initiatives, such as Association of Autonomous Astronauts, Makrolab, and is co-
founder with Bureau d’Etudes (Léonore Bonaccini and Xavier Fourt) of the journal & collective
The Laboratory Planet and the associated projects Spectral Investigations Collective and Aliens
in Green. Defining himself as a collective author, he has collaborated with numerous artists and
is also a curator and producer in the development of intermedia, performance and investigative
artworks. In 2015 he was a laureate of the French Institute’s American residencies, following
which he published ‘Mojave Epiphanie, une histoire secrète du programme spatial américain’
(Inculte, 2016) and exhibited his research at the Centre Pompidou during the 2019 Hors Pistes
festival. In 2015 he also initiated with Tomas Saraceno the French branch of the Aerocene
Foundation. Since 2016, Ewen Chardronnet and Xavier Bailly (CNRS, Roscoff Marine Station)
lead the art/science collaboration Roscosmoe.org on animal-algae symbiosis and accompany
the development of artistic work related to the marine environment and evolutionary biology. He
has shown his work in many institutions including: Pompidou, MEP, Jeu de Paume, Belle de
Mai, Fundação Serralves, PACT Zollverein, Transmediale, Berlinische Galerie, Casa
Encendida, RIXC, Science Gallery Dublin & London. His project ‘Unborn0x9’ with
American/Taiwanese artist Shu Lea Cheang received an honorary mention at Prix Ars
Electronica in 2021. He is currently chief editor at the French medialab and online magazine
Makery.info and curator of the Open Source Body festival held biennially at Cité Internationale
des Arts, Paris.
